Rice’s diverse academic and social atmosphere encourages students to be as involved in campus life as they choose. Students are invited to take advantage of every opportunity and challenge.

Black Student Association (BSA)
BSA serves as a useful forum for the entire Rice community. Its mission adapts to the changing student population. BSA involves itself in community outreach, social opportunities, and sponsoring campus forums. BSA is at its best when sharing the history and experiences of African Americans at Rice.
Chinese Student Association (CSA)
CSA provides students the opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture and heritage. In addition to the fellowship, CSA participates in social functions sponsored by the local Houston Chinese community. They offer support and friendship needed to assist Asian American students through college.
Hispanic Association for Cultural Education at Rice (HACER)
HACER seeks to promote the Hispanic culture in the Rice community and serves as a support group for Hispanic students. HACER gives members the opportunity to form close friendships with Hispanic students at Rice and members of Hispanic groups from neighboring colleges and universities.
South Asian Society (SAS)
SAS is a student organization dedicated to spreading awareness of the cultures of South Asia. Membership is open to the entire student body, and the club holds various events and programs to share the South Asian experience with Rice University and beyond.
